Welcome

Hi I'm Ian Micklewright and welcome to my personal site. I am a software developer who specialises in Microsoft Technologies. I work for a company called P & L Software Solutions. P & L are a company based in Crewe who specialise in helping small to medium size companies with their IT needs. If you have an IT Problem then Check Out Their Website.

I also do a bit of software development in my own time. My latest personal development can be seen Here. It is a full e-commerce application for a retail shop based in the Wolverhampton area.

I have experience in many programming languages. I am experienced and proficient in VB.net, ASP.net, VBA (Visual basic For Applications), SQL (Structured Query Language), HTML, XHTML and CSS. I have also developed programs in C#, C, C++ and Java.  Most of the applications I develop are data intensive but i hope this site demonstrates that I am able to produce graphically pleasing applications.

I am a graduate of Staffordshire University where I received a 2.1 Honours degree in Computing Science.

Away from my computer I am a very keen golfer and i am currently a member of Bloxwich Golf Club. My current handicap is 5 and I am hoping to get that down lower during the 2007 season.

This site will be initially used to develop and portrait my programming skills, but I will be included some personal elements such as a gallery and maybe even a forum. I aim to hopefully take and pass the Microsoft programming exams very soon.
